Biography and Education

Leigh'Ann is the Stage Management Lecturer at Texas State University. Previously, she has had a long career in professional theatre and dance stage management. Immediately before working at Texas State, Leigh'Ann was the Production Stage Manager at Ballet Idaho for two seasons, where she worked on the world premiere story ballet of Peter and the Wolf. Prior to Ballet Idaho, Leigh'Ann lived in Seattle, WA where she served as Stage Manager at Pacific Northwest Ballet for three seasons. She stage managed more than 50 ballets including Swan Lake, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and The Nutcracker, PNB premieres choreographed by Justin Peck and Yuri Possokhov, as well as world premieres choreographed by Kyle Davis, Miles Pertl, and Robyn Mineko Williams. Also in Seattle Leigh'Ann stage managed for Seattle Children's Theatre, The Guild Dance Company, Folklife Festival, and Olympic Ballet Theatre. Before moving to Seattle, Leigh'Ann was the original PSM for The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical. Other stage management credits include two international tours with Trisha Brown Dance Company, more than 20 productions at Casa MaƱana, three seasons with Trinity Shakespeare Festival, two seasons with Creede Repertory Theatre, Lincoln Center Theater's Directors Lab, Trinity Repertory Company, Arvada Center, and Dallas Theater Center. Leigh'Ann has guest lectured on the topics of dance stage management and professional career development at Cornish College of the Arts, Stage Management Boot Camp, University of Northern Iowa, Iowa Thespian Festival, University of Iowa, University of Utah, Indiana State University, and Adams State University. She consulted on dance stage management for the textbook, Stage Management Basics 2nd Edition, and co-authored the industry-studying 2013 Stage Management Survey. She received the Iowa Arts Fellowship from 2012-2014 and is a current member of AGMA and AEA.
