Biography and Education

I am a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice whose nursing experience has focused around women’s and perinatal healthcare. After earning my MSN in maternity nursing from The University of Texas at Austin in 2015, I completed my post-master’s certificate to become a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from Vanderbilt University in 2017. In 2019, I completed the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at Vanderbilt University where my capstone project was called: Development of a Clinical Onboarding Program for an Ambulatory Care Setting. I am nationally certified in Obstetric and Neonatal Quality and Safety, a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, and a Certified Nurse Educator.

I have worked in nursing education as a clinical teaching assistant and guest lecturer for pre-licensure nursing students in their OB rotation. I also have experience in healthcare simulation having been involved in creating the new maternity simulation currently being used at UT-Austin’s School of Nursing. Most recently, I worked with Population Health at The University of Texas System where I served as a Senior Quality Improvement and Research Nurse supporting the Texas Collaborative for Healthy Mothers and Babies, Texas’ Perinatal Quality Collaborative. In this role, I both led and helped to support the development and implementation of quality improvement projects in perinatal settings across Texas, working to make healthcare safer for all Texas moms and babies.
