Biography Section

Biography and Education

Dr. Lindsay is a pediatric nurse with over 30 years of experience in pediatric oncology, pediatric emergency room, pediatric home health and palliative care. She is a pediatric end-of-life trainer through ELNEC and has done interdisciplinary trainings on pediatric end of life and palliative care. She worked with the Student Nurses Association (SNA) at University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) to help reestablish the Butterfly Room-a pediatric palliative care unit now used at UTMB for patient of all ages requiring palliative care and her simulation on pediatric end-of- life is still being taught within the UTMA healthcare system. She also studies how the unexpected death of a child can impact health care providers. She is currently an assistant professor at Texas State University (TSU) teaching undergraduate didactic and clinical pediatric course.
She obtained her MSN at Vanderbilt University and her PhD at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston
