Biography and Education

I am originally from Virginia, but I have lived in Austin off and on since 2007. I have a BA in Women's Studies with an emphasis in gender, sexuality, and public health and a BS in Health and PE Teaching. My master's degree in Health Education is from Texas State. I am married with two children and an active volunteer for Girl Scouts and The International Childbirth Education Association.

Teaching Interests

I enjoy teaching introductory classes that "welcome" students into the world of public health and prepare them for their future careers. I also enjoy teaching classes related to my favorite areas of study: school health disease prevention, personal health, and women's health.

Research Interests

I am interested in school health, childbirth education, and school connectedness.
