Biography and Education

I was born in Puerto Rico where I did my undergraduate studies in Mathematics and Chemistry at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras campus. I moved to the University of Texas at Arlington in 2010 to do my graduate studies in mathematics. I obtained my Ph.D. on 2017 and have been teaching at Texas State University ever since.

Teaching Interests

I believe the best way to teach is by example. I work hard to teach my students but I work harder to be a role model. That is what drives me and the success of my students. I believe research should be understood by all students and I like to demonstrate my love for it.

Research Interests

My main interest in Numerical Linear Algebra. I work with a constrained eigenvalue problem that has applications in image segmentation. I have always had an interest for mathematical applications in STEM fields. I've recently built an interest in Dynamic Mode Decomposition, Image inpainting, and 3D Image Reconstruction.
