Biography Section

Biography and Education

I earned a PhD in History at the University of Chicago during 1997; my thesis advisor was Rashid Khalidi (currently, at Columbia University). I prepared with a MA in Political Science at Northwestern University (1988); my BA is from Earlham College (1986).

Teaching Interests

I'm excited to be teaching a new undergraduate course, "Spy vs Spy in North Africa during World War II."

Research Interests

Algeria. Egypt. Iraq. Diplomatic history. History of science and medicine.
