Biography and Education

Trina Dillard has had a Radiologic Science career since 1988 when she graduated with her associates in Radiography. Immediately following this achievement, she started Radiation Therapy School and passed the national board exam in June 1989. After working 4 years in Tulsa Oklahoma as a radiation therapist, she moved to Texas and started a 21-year career with Texas Oncology. In 2001, she became a Certified Medical Dosimetrist in addition to the Chief Radiation Therapist position for Texas Oncology- South Austin. In 2001, she was invited to join the Clinical Leadership Counsel for Us Oncology, which involved creating policy and procedures for the entire network. This committee changed to the Clinical Advisory Committee and continued until she left in October, 2014. During this time, Trina implemented LDR, HDR, SRS, SBRT, IMRT, IGRT and EMR's programs into the network. She hired and trained staff, worked on a development team to build cancer centers and was responsible for the San Marcos Texas Oncology opening and the South Austin remodel. She has created budgets, executive justification requests and was charged with selecting and implementing millions of dollars' worth of machines and support products. Her focus is on the implementation of our new technologically advanced applications. Having the Vert 3D virtual radiotherapy treatment simulator, the cloud based Mosaiq electronic medical record, and Elekta Monaco dosimetry treatment planning computer, much time is spent working with the configuration, data entry, creation of teaching material and lesson plans, as well as working with the vendor application specialists, IT, and other instructors, to utilize these tools for a higher level of learning for our students. Trina also holds a part time position at Revenue Cycle Billing as a Client Resource Manager, which positions her to teach our students the billing and documentation associated with radiation therapist related tasks. Trina is a resource for several clients throughout the United States. In her spare time, she has taken classes at Midwestern University Radiologic Science program to complete her degree and has become a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars for Midwestern State University.
