Biography and EducationI started with HIM in 2006 after having worked as the Health Information Management Security Officer for an Austin hospital for four years. My primary areas of teaching currently include HIM departmental management and medical terminology. I am also the lead faculty in the HIM Practicum course taken by the seniors during their internship semester. I am also currently in my 4th and final year of the Adult Professional Community Education Doctoral Program here at Texas State.
Teaching InterestsTeaching Leadership and management skills for future HIM professionals.
Research InterestsBetter health information communications strategies between healthcare professionals and the elderly/older generation (women).
