Biography Section

Biography and Education

In addition to my master's degree in science, I hold credentials as a Certified Asthma Educator, Registered Respiratory Therapist, and Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist. I am an active member of the Association of Asthma Educators, American Association for Respiratory Care, and the Texas Society for Respiratory Care. My research interests include asthma education on the college campus, pulmonary function testing, pulmonary rehabilitation, and end-of-life issues. Besides my duties as a faculty member, I am a Ph.D. candidate in the College of Education with a major in Adult Education at Texas State University; the title of my dissertation is,"Living with and Learning about Asthma on the College Campus." I am married with four children, including one son with asthma.
