Biography Section

Biography and Education

Greg currently serves as the Resident Music Director for Texas State University’s Department of Theatre and Dance. The Austin Critics’ Table has twice named Greg Best Music Director for his work at T.S.U.’s productions. He has also acted as music director for more than thirty shows in major theaters across the country and is a highly regarded vocal coach and clinician. A native of Helena, Montana, Greg received his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in music composition from the University of Texas in 2007. Greg’s original compositions have been performed across the country and around the globe. This past summer, Greg completed his second opera, Tango. An accomplished arranger and orchestrator, Greg provided original vocal arrangements and orchestrations for Andrew Lippa’s A Little Princess and Zachary Scott Theater’s Porgy and Bess (for which he received a special citation from the Austin Critics’ Table).
