Biography Section

Biography and Education

 Dr. Cathy Cherrstrom is Associate Professor in the Department of Organization, Workforce, and Leadership Studies. Before joining Texas State University, Dr. Cherrstrom had 25 years of experience leading and managing teams in the financial services industry, most recently as Senior Vice President and Business Banking Executive, and extensive non-profit and community service. She earned her Ph.D. in Adult Education and Human Resource Development from Texas A&M University.

Research Interests

 My research agenda broadly examines adult development and transition within the contexts of the workplace and higher education. More specifically, the agenda focuses on three strands:

--adult learning, adult learners, and prior learning assessment
--STEM knowledge and teaching development
--career development and transition

Collectively, these strands fulfill my mission to advance adult development and transition in the workplace and higher education, through interdisciplinary research, teaching, training, and learning.
